we are close to south shields. luv the sea side but my whippet hates it with a passion! havent tried daisy yet. only the small beach is ok for dogs (other 1 is off limits for the summer) but my stress levels go through the roof cos of stupid dog owners who think its funny there to let their dogs off lead when they have no recall or control over their dogs.
where abouts are you again?

Hi,we only live about 15 mins away in Washington,i have a blue whippet Obi and blue brindle greyhound Susie too,
I often come to there with them as my hubby is from Shields,so if you wanted to meet up sometime we would love to, be nice for Obi and Susie too see how they all get along.

We're in Darlington Geordie, but used to live in Durham so used to go to Shields a lot. If you'd like Daisy and Bob to meet I'm sure we could organise to be "passing" sometime. Is the small beach along near the people statues?

And once the dog-ban is over (is that October?) perhaps we could have one of our awayday walks up there?

i would luv to meet up with other owners to see how the dogs interact. might sound bit daft tho but i would need to know a while in advance as i have problems getting out at times by myself (silly i know). the big beach is great but the small one is full of staffies which make me slightly nervous.

I'd put money on Daisy being fine with other Greys. They see themselves as a breed apart from other dogs. I guess it's because Greys are all they see when they are growing up.

Sounds like the small beach would be a nightmare with all the staffies. Is there a nice park or walk near you? Doesn't have to take long- just enough time for the hounds to meet. Ours aren't that fond of sand and don't like the water so we don't usually bother with beaches.

Thats fine with having to have lots of notice i also have to, as i have to get the 3 kids looked after its a bit of a challenge trying to walk 2 dogs and push a buggy at the same time, just let me know when is best for you and i'll try to organise things.
Susie has never been on the sand so i dont know what she'll be like,Obi loves anything and everything but he is a bit of a nutter.

Hi geordie and sharon.

If you'd like to meet for a walk near Bede's world Jon and I are happy to bring Bob along to meet his baby sister and Brenya along to meet everyone. It'll have to be a weekend, so if you let us know when fits in with your family stuff that'd be great.

I'll bring a camera along and try and get some pics for you as well, but I don't promise anything

If you would like to suggest a date after the 5th when you are both free then we'll come up (along with anyone else who wants to of course).

If we could try and avoid F1 Grand Prix weekends as well 11/12 July and 25/26 July then Jon'll come as well- more chance of pics when I have my hands lead free.

And of course... it's school holidays from 17th July so then we can come out to play during the week as well.

Just let us know when fits best with all your family stuff
