Hello Ricardo and thank you for your collaboration.
First thing is to decide if you will continue translating existing
Portuguese (Brazilian) po files or you want to create new pt_pt ones. In
the first case you just have to download current cvs po files from
http://freegis.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/grass6/locale/po/ and continue
translating using Kbabel.
In the second case it's necessary to create new files. I don't know how
different Portugal and Brazil Portuguese are, but I suppose it's better
to adapt current pt_br files than starting from zero. Tell me your
opinion and I can generate new files if needed.

I think it might be better if i start a new translation from scratch, because some expressions are different and some words are written differently, but of course i will compare my translation with the pt-br existing one.
I suppose i should begin with the http://grass.itc.it/grass63/binary/linux/snapshot/ version, am i right? I think i will be able to follow the instructions from http://grass.itc.it/devel/i18n.php but i will ask for help if any thing comes up.
How will i submit my translation? And is there some schedule to release GRASS 6.3?

Hi Ricardo, Carlos

I know I've been AWOL for a while, but I am returning to my regular translation job here =]

So, Ricardo, instead of starting a whole new set of translations, I would invite you to join our translation efforts.
Currently we are half-way though all those files, and having a third translator would be of great help.
Then, when we catch up with current i18n then we may split pt-PT and pt-BR.

If you enjoy taking that route, I would suggest renaming files to *_pt, provided we don't mess with any other's work.
I recognize differences between pt-PT and -BR, but think that we both would benefit from a complete set of messages.
