I am using amsbook class, and cannot achieve the swapped theorem numbering (say, 1.2 Lemma instead of Lemma 1.2). The amsbook is supposed to include amsthm.sty, and the style documentation says one should enter \swapnumbers command. But entering this in the preamble does not change anything. Please help.
