wtf    why are there always so many people missing when they do funerals?   shouldnt lily, luke, tom, emma, meg, bob and kim  be there?  and even nancy hughes?  she was always pretty friendly with katie.   that being said it was so sad and went off very well

I was just coming on to write the same thing! What were there -- eleven people? Cripes! Even Carly made an effort! No Lily (probably off snuggling with Damien?); no Tom (where's he been lately anyway?); no Emma (babysitting?); no Meg (not that I cared). And what about Kim and a few token colleagues from WOAK? It was like they hired on the skeleton crew of actors to create the memorial service. It was sad - and made sadder by the fact that there was such a pathetic turnout. Oakdale certainly doesn't do funerals very well. (And I'm sorry -- but I HAVE to add it -- Casey has never looked worse! And I don't attribute it to grief...) Katie is still impressing me with her acting skills, though.

You are right...Meg, Kim & Bob, all the Snyder kids (Sage, Faith, Nat, Ethan, etc.), Emma!!!!, Tom, etc. were all conspicuously absent today.  It was crazy.

That said, I still think that this service was good.  All of the speeches felt and sounded authentic...I cried a couple of times.  Katie is still doing a stellar job in every scene...her pain seems so totally real and her emotions all seem appropriate and not over or under acted.  At the end when she sat in that chair grabbing her chest and taking deep breaths to calm herself...that was SO how I would be and so I cried..AGAIN.

The contrast between this funeral and Holden's recent service is stunning to me.  Holden...who has been a staple and beloved character for decades....had a crappy ridiculous ceremony that felt completely false and forced.  Brad...who's only been around for a few years...had a meaningful goodbye that seemed very genuine.

I know the ghost of Brad is going to be gone soon...I'm so sad about it.  I really can't believe that the show killed the best couple it had going for it.  They really are stupid...I'm convinced.

Given that some of the actors are on vacation, the producers could have taped them before they left.  They certainly knew weeks ago that Austin Peck was not long for the show.  Then to insert the taped snippets into the church scene would have been relatively easy.  Once again TPTB blew it in a major way.  Almost NO Snyders at the funeral?  What a gaff!  It's almost enough to make me change my screen name!

Hey...good to hear from you...seems like a while since I've seen you post!  Yes, the Snyder clan was not very supportive yesterday.  Emma's absence had to be the worst gaff IMO.

Oh well...at least we can look forward to seeing Carly today.

Too many people MIA from the funeral. All of the people already mentioned, of course, but also the crew that he worked with and fans. We had four news reporters in AZ(two from one news station, and two from another) die in a helicopter accident a few years ago when the choppers collided and the televised memorial services were filled to the brim with people and had people standing outside. Usually in the real world, weddings and funerals are the only times aside from Christmas and Thanksgiving that the whole family gets together. I guess that in soap opera land people come back from the dead too often that everyone figures they'll make it to the next funeral. LOL. At least everyone will get another chance to say goodbye to Adam and Holden when they really kick the bucket. The first one was just practice, right? Too bad Brad won't be getting another farewell celebration. When it comes down to it, I would much rather have seen Brad live than Holden and Adam put together.
