i have a situation-here it is...i went to a box the other day and there was a letter in there with the persons name on it but no address and no stamp. i took the letter out and took it back to the office with me and left a 3849 in the box with the postage due box checked on it. i got back to the office late that day and the truck got there as i did so i was a little hurried to get stuff put where it belonged and i accidentally put that darn letter on the truck. i told the clerk about it and she said well, technically they are not supposed to just put letters in a box without postage or even at all for that matter anyway so i was right in taking the letter out and leaving a postage due notice. she also said that this lady who had her name written on the letter did daycare and someone most likely left her a check in this letter and it would end up coming back to the office. well, it hasn't yet and i'm wondering if i'm going to get any heat for this. i was just following the rules but i did make the mistake of putting it in the outgoing mail. has this ever happened to any of you?
