The DNS for www.geotools.org has not been updated to point to the new
site, so it is now live. I just updated the files from svn so its
serving the latest revision from spike.

Next steps? I would still like to unclutter the front page... just have
not been able to find the time.

I quite like the Netbeans front page as an example relatively small
amount of text but still plenty of information:

Yeah, its more what I had in mind. Our front page is riddled with
paragraphs of text which is too much imo. Most pages I see, and netbeans
confirms this, just have a single sentence on the front page.

Imo opinion the entire front page we have now should go on an "about"
page. I would leave the front page with:

1) the first sentence of that first paragraph.
2) the news feed
3) a download button

Thanks Justin:

I was focused on the look - the text is the same as our current front
page (well even I removed some duplication). Please go ahead and hack.

We also need to hack in Andrea's smaller background image.

Hi Justin;

The geotools.org site still points at the developer guide - is it
possible to redirect this one?

So in general here we are all agreed that we should cut down on the
text of the home page. I am not going to have any time for this stuff
until next weekend (busy with work/udig).  If I could ask that we also
consider the "case studies" page; and setting up the site to actually
pull in our blog feed.

We have some actual work to do before we can get too worked up about content.
