Summary: SCIM(SKIM) causes text input problems in KDE 4.2
Initial Comment:
I recently upgraded to openSUSE11.1 with KDE4.2, and now I'm having a problem with renaming file names in KDE applications.
I'll use Dolphin, the file manager, as an example.
PROBLEM / HOW TO REPRODUCE:
1. In Dolphin, select a file and choose "rename" (either inline or in a popup window).
2. The expected behavior is that the original file name is marked for editing. However, some character is entered automatically (i.e. most likely sent from SCIM), so that the original file name is deleted instantaneously, leaving only a blank. This is highly annoying since often one only wants to edit the original name, not type a new one.
It seems likely that SCIM is the source of the problem (see discussion at bugs.kde.org, bug #186670:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=186670).

SCIM SETTINGS:
The panel is set to "scim-panel-kde".
General settings: "Enter preedit string into client window (on the spot style)" is DEactivated.
XIM settings: "On the spot" editing is DEactivated.
(Deactivating OnTheSpot Editing is necessary because it causes problems when inputting Japanese text.)
