Summary: Keyboard stops working; applications crash on quitting SCIM
Initial Comment:
I upgraded from Ubuntu 7.10 to 8.04 (SCIM was already installed before, without problems) and found that, in 8.04, as long as SCIM is running, various applications would become unresponsive to the keyboard. I've seen this behavior in Opera and Gnome Terminal. The programs would either become unresponsive as soon as they gained focus, or they would sometimes become unresponsive after certain events (in Opera, I would consistently lose the keyboard after using a drop-down combo box, and sometimes after using the mouse scroll wheel or closing a window with ctrl-w). I have had to stop using SCIM as a result. This is when I also noticed that exiting SCIM may cause the currently focused application to quit (I've seen this happen to Opera).
Please advise. Thanks.

Message:
The latter problem should be fixed with Qt 4.5.0 - Qt-based applications
used to crash when SCIM was restarted (or killed).
