Alan, I have been a RCA for 15 years...Paying into the Union the whole time. Waiting for like forever to be regular. I am the senior RCA. A regular retired 2-3 years ago, and the route has not been posted....waiting for autimation of dps letters I was told....that came them told of the memorandum of holding the routes open as a buffer route (7/28/08)....I think there was a window of opportunity her that it could have been poster, but since one of the carriers in our office is up there in the union....I was not given the chance for that to put it nicely.....What do you think?
Just Alan

I am not a steward, but if what you say is true, that damn route should have been posted years ago. I'd contact your State Stew, and get a route. If you have a case, and the stew won't resolve it, let me know thier name and the state you are in. If I can help, I will.

Alan, Hi...I checked back on 3/29, and 3/30 and I saw nothing. The other night I checked and saw your comment. I followed your advice and called our State Stewert here, Terry Minor (315-539-3934) and was told sorry but nothing can be done. Here are the facts I was hired in 1994. I have paid into the union since 1994. There are 3 routes in our office. (The PM is Theresa Joyner....who between postal stuff sells her realestate..She thanks Uncle Sam for allowing her ample time to do both.) The regular on route 1 retired 12/06....The route did not go to be posted waiting for DPS, we have a shop stewert in the office who is in the union on the Executive Committee, and who runs our local branch. He has hi own route in our office. The sub on record the time the retiree left is the one getting the paid sick days, vacation days. Me being the senior sub gets nothing. Oh I did recieve 2 letters pertaining to route 1 and route 2 saying that it is mandatory that I cover those routes, regular days and their vacation. It is like a slap in the face to say the least. I am so discussed in the union and not having a route. Grant it their are a lot of carriers out there that do a crappy job.....I am not one of them..I give and have gave over 150%. I am some one that makes the Postal Service and the union proud and I get crapped on like this, it's just not fair Alan. If you can do anything to help me I would appreciate it. Feel free to call me 518-755-0425. Thank you.
