regular taking new route. No training at this time of year?

I have been a regular for about 7 years. My route is an h and I moving to a K route.
According to my steward I will get no training for this new route.
The contract says newly appointed regulars get training. Couldn't
this be interpreted as newly appointed to this route?
Any help appreciated.

This would be a voluntary re-assignment.  You did request the move didn't you?

I switched offices with a carrier. You get no training. I was able to ride along. The PM also let me start early for a month. It was worth it. Good luck.

Art 9 Section M Paragraph 5 states : When a voluntary reassignment of a regular rural carrier occurs outside the delivery unit the regular carrier shall be scheduled for 1 day of on the clock familiarization training on the new route. You did not state if you were changing routes in house or to a new office. Don't know how things work in your area but sometimes if you seem to have problems meeting evaluated times you can nicely ask for some training when you are new to a route.
