Toby, David, Lasconic,
Thanks for the reply. I had to work this afternoon so I just got to my
system.
I work with 64-bit and gnome and can't imagine why Kubuntu should work
and gnome not as I can read .xml files (created with Finale) .
As I said(wrote) I use hardy (8.04) as I see all sort of problems with
jaunty but on my laptop I have jaunty installed and will see if it works
there ( after I have mscore compiled for that system).
I have tried all the suggestions given but none works. All give files
with the extension .mscz. With cmp the files differ only one byte in
line 1 (I assume it has to do with the extension, I haven't looked at
the files with ghexedit).
My QT version is 4.5.0.0 ubuntu-hardy.
Toby, I like to try the new version but I think it will not solve this
problem but if you have a better qt I would like to get it. I am also
curious if other distributions (Debian, Fedora, SuSe, etc.) show the
same problems.
My other question with respect to the cursor always returning to measure
1 note 1 (after leaving the note insert mode) is intentional?
Thanks already for your efforts,
Joep
