| Subject: [Audacity-help] problem
| when i try and load libmp3lame-3.97\lame_enc.dll, it says it has a
| potentially unsafe file type of .DLL. It also says i should not open it if

You are receiving a warning that you should not open system library files,
and you should adhere to this. You don't need to open the LAME binary,
simply tell Audacity where to find it once you have extracted it from any zip
folder that you obtained it in. You also need to obtain the correct LAME binary
for your operating system and version of Audacity e.g. lame_enc.dll is only
for Windows. Please go to this page:

example if you are on Windows, please read the Windows instructions.
If you have any further questions, please tell us what operating system you are
on (e.g. Windows XP, OS X 10.4, and if you are on OS X, whether you have an
Intel Mac or Power PC). Also please tell us what version of Audacity you are
using (see Help > About Audacity or Audacity > About Audacity in the program).
