ok i admit, i hate thumbing through a buttload of paper trying to find a simple answer so i'm using you knowledgable and talented people! here's the dealio-an rca has to work 90 days or one year of probation, whichever comes first. if 60 days are worked on a regular route evaluated at say 8 hours and the other 30 days were worked on a 2 hour aux route, does that make 90 days? or does it have to be 720 hours (8 hours x 90 days)? and, is there any benefit to having finished the probation period or is it just "whopee! you're off probation!"
each day you work is counted towards your 90 days, does not matter whether a day is 2 hours or 10 hours,, does not matter if you work in another post office a few days. all days go towards the 90 days.
There is nothing so powerful as truth, and often nothing so strange.
And, your training and orientation days, as well as "vehicle familiarization" also count. Any day you report to work for pay, after you were hired, counts as a work day.
Also, after you're off probation, you can change routes or transfer to another office.
Question for those of you who know......So if I was hired as a TRC in December in one post office went thru training, driving LLV training etc, and then in June became an RCA in another office....is the probation period start the date I reported as an RCA? Or is it when I began training as a TRC? Thnks for your help.
