Our Supervisor who is a 204b has within the last couple of months stated that our goal for delivery confirmations is 100%Everyday is running around telling us we missed two scans today!!We are a 19 route office and since my route alone on that day may have had 15 or 20 scans alone,I I would assume that the total scans for the day would be well over 200.I figured if we scanned 228 out of 230 that is 99.1 percent.Our old Postmaster used to read our scores and say we got 98.8 percent the goal is98.7 Good Job guys!!If we got 100 he would really praise us and sometimes bring in donuts!So I have asked twice who is giving this new 100%goal and she doesn't answer.I said how can someone set the goal at 100% when we have faulty equipment and no set standards on these packages for these scans?Not too mention we do have humans working the packages.She said she figured out that last month we only got 100%7 days out of 30 and reamed ou asses out that we only got 28% out of the month.I pointed out what the districts set goals used to be around the middle 98%.Where we were praised when applicable by past P.M and Supes.I said I have asked you twice who is setting this 100% goal and Its not a hard question I want an answer is it them or you?Another carrier answered her,she didn't say anything.I said we are getting robbed of appreciation and praise and no one cares about moral!!I am not saying missed scans are a problem with the scanners,but since they just get worse and worse the possibility does exist!!If in one day we got say 12,000 scans..and we missed 2 that would be pretty freaking good wouldn't it?But guess what,still not 100%!!!I am sorry I am venting but is anybody else's office giving a 100% goal?If she is setting the goal but districts is a lower goal still who do I call to find out about this?She is really acting like we all just doing a awful job,when I bet most days are high 98% or 99%.Acts like that doesn't even count as doing good.

WOW!  This is coming from a 204b??  This is the kind of information that I would expect to hear from a Post Master!  Like you said, I would LOVE to know where this directive is coming from!

Our Manager is demanding 100% scans too.  Carriers are threatened with discipline for missing any scans.  I was informed last week that any carrier who misses scans three times (no time frame) will be removed for failure to follow instructions.  I was questioning the order to scan all packages and barcodes just in case they might read.  I informed them we do not receive compensation for this nonsense and they cannot demand this unless they are willing to pay us for the new duties they implemented. 
 
Another problem I noticed  is that when a parcel is scanned to a route that does not have that address it is shows as a failure even if it was scanned on another route.
