Hi All,

seems i find a bug ... but i have problems on how to describe it :-
( beacouse it is weird ...

the bug is related to the Qt apps and how they handle the localized-
string
(if i well remember, proj and qgis was affected by the same problem in
the past)
i'll try to explain by example :

i've a working ossimplanetQt + ossim_qt4 instalation on a debian
machine.

Logging in as normal user, using the default language that is "EN/
USA", i'm able to work withot problem.
But if i "log-in" using a different "session-language" (choose it at
the log-in window),
ossimplanet fails to load the earth.jpg (located in .ossim) also if i
try to manually load it ,
the same problem in imagelinker, if i try to load earth.jpg i have a
black screen and wrong coordinates[

maybe this problem will be hack-fixed exporting a different var for
the locale environment
i'll try to document this problem  ... do you already know problems
like this one ?

thanks,

Massimo.

Hello Massimo:

Ossim core does not have support for 16 bit string characters.  We may
need to figure out how to add internationalization through the core
but this might be hard and a large change to accomplish.  This might
be what's going on.  Never tried it before.

Take care

Garrett
