This is just to make sure everyone on these lists knows we've decided to
release Audacity 1.3.8 beta on July 12. Code freeze commences 12n UTC on
July 9.

This is intended to be the last of the 1.3.x series, and the next
release after that will be 2.0 stable, in September.

Translators, this is an opportunity to get your new work in circulation
before we do the (approximately mid-August) string freeze for the 2.0
stable version, but it's not mandatory to get the final version ready
for the 1.3.8 release.

Thanks,
Vaughan

I have to say that wasn't exactly my understanding. I was assuming
there would be a 1.3.9 around August 25th (when GSoC results are
announced). I was assuming that at least some more bug fixing will
be done between mid July and mid August and that we ought to get
feedback on that?

And are we going to do James' stress testing between now and July 12th?
I don't have huge confidence in what we have now, either on Windows
(especially stability when applying large numbers of repeated effects)
or Mac (especially project re-opening and recovery).

Hi!

There two (at least I have found two) typos in messages:

widgets/Meter.cpp:1140
qualtiy

must be "quality"

export/ExportMultiple.cpp:525
Something went wrong after exporting the folliwing %ld file(s).

must be "following"

Can these typos be corrected before the release?

BTW To whom can I send the translation?

Thanks in advance,
Yuri

Thanks, Yuri. I have already seen "qualtiy" and have made a shorter wording for the Meter Preferences. I'll commit that and the fixed "folliwing" after we have finished changing our Windows compiler.

Please post translations to the list or send them to me.

Fine with me. I don't think that had ever been mentioned. I thought it
would be a 2.0rc (or a series of release candidates), rather than
1.3.9b. August 25 doesn't leave much time if we're targeting
mid-September for final release.

Nevertheless, the dates for 1.3.8 are agreed, so the translators know
that, and we can take the 1.3.9 discussion off that list for now.

Sorry, I don't recall that, but it's a good idea.

Right, so we definitely need a specific agenda item to debug that.

Hello Vaughan,

Could you confirm that next stable release would be named 2.0 and not 1.4.0 ? It's important for me as I'm writing a book based upon next version.

Thanks

I'm cc-ing -devel to see if anybody disagrees, but it's my understanding
we have indeed decided to call it 2.0.
