Our encoder implementation is licences under the LGPL license. However,
that only covers our specific implementation, and would not change
anything regarding a potential patents license. It is your
responsability to check for such a patents license.
Practically, several companies are shipping Lame with their products,
and subscribed to some patents licenses (including from ThomsonMM/FhG).
By using Lame you would save cost on the implementation, but not on the
patents license.
