Summary: can't deal with many WAV files, e.g., made on S1MP3s

Initial Comment:
Attached is an example of a WAV file that lame can't deal
with, -x or not.

We see
Warning: corrupt or unsupported WAVE format
buried amongst the messages.

Instead of bombing out, lame continues, and even returns 0
to the shell's $? variable.

(This WAV was made on an S1MP3 unit.)
