A day or so ago I had similar problems with Chandler Hub,
Version 1.1-SNAPSHOT-r7367-2009-02-13T13:15 when I first tried to get a colleague's iPhone to use CalDAV following the OS upgrade.

It was difficult for me to get to the green iCal button (probably because I rarely have my hands on an iPhone) but when I tried, it didn't work; AFAIR a subscription was gained (visible in settings on the iPhone) but nothing appeared in Calendar. Maybe I pressed something wrong.

@ Andrew

Did you go for the first available green iCal button?

Or did you take the invitation route, to a read-only ticket, then click the second green iCal button?

@ Graham

I did not go through the "invitation" route on the local Chandler Server html UI. The green iCal route works. The blue CalDav route is verified in the iPhone config but no collection appears in the  Calendar app.

@ Graham

Did you try the CalDAV route? How did you obtain the URL? Chandler Desktop or web? Internet HUb server or local Cosmo server?

Sorry for the typo in the subject but correcting it would mess up the threading...

AFAIR, first by manually entering
hub.chandlerproject.org
and in advanced settings, the path
/dav/users/username
(mimicing what works in iCal 3).

At one point the account was not verified, later verified.

Then AFAIR I copied the CalDAV URL from Hub.

Again the account was verified.

In all CalDAV cases: even if the account is verified, no calendars (collections) appear.

Experimentally, pointing Safari at <https://hub.chandlerproject.org/dav/users/username> I noticed
{DAV:}principal-URL
/dav//users/username

so in settings on iPhone I experimented with two solidi
//
in the appropriate place, but that made no difference.

Internet HUb server or local Cosmo server?

I can also confirm using the add caldav account and put in as suggested here
http://chandlerproject.org/Projects/UsingOtherAppsWithChandlerHub

using this url
https://hub.chandlerproject.org/dav/users/your_Chandler_user_name

That is authenticated ok but nothing in the cal app.

This should allow 2 way - where as subscribe is 1 way correct ?

iCalendar publish/subscribe is one way.

CalDAV should be two-way.

Two threads on the same topic on apple.com forum. Intially they suspect an Apple issue when they found a similar problem to ours with the DAViCal server. But the DAViCal author fixed the bug from their side.

Ok so does that mean the cosmo server (the hub) need to be updated ?

Can any developer on this list bring this issue up on the cosmo-dev list and file a bug report? Many thanks!

AFAICT symptoms for users of DAViCal were different from symptoms for users of Chandler Server.

In our case: iPhone sees no collections.

I discussed what may have been a related bug with Grant on/around 10th June.

Tried it again looking at the zimbra approach.

Same as before - verification works but no calendars appear.

Adam, many thanks.

Incidentally, have you updated to iPhone OS 3.1? Glancing at <http://news.worldofapple.com/archives/2009/07/02/iphone-os-31-brings-slew-of-enhancements/> I don't see anything related to CalDAV but it may be worth a try.

Sorry, ignore that question. The news article makes clear that it's for developers (not the public) at this time.

All users of iPhone OS 3.0: please try making Wi-Fi active (and connected to the Internet) during and after CalDAV configuration.

Relating to iPhone OS 3 problems with beta CalDAV service from Yahoo, highlights at <http://www.diigo.com/bookmark/http%3A%2F%2Fdiscussions.apple.com%2Fthread.jspa%3FthreadID%3D2046153?tab=comment&uname=grahamperrin> may be of interest.

I recall (but now I can not relocate) some hint that the beta version of iPhone OS 3.1 would resolve this issue. Now iPhone OS 3.1 is released (highlights: <http://www.diigo.com/07341>) I see nothing related to CalDAV.

Still, it will be good to hear from anyone with iPhone hardware (I'm without) whether 3.1 resolves this interop issue with Chandler Hub.

In the meantime, from <http://developer.apple.com/iphone/> I'm downloading the iPhone SDK 3.1, which includes the iPhone simulator.

The simulator is not what I expected (not suitable for what I had in mind). Good news, from an off-list post:
