Hello all.  i want to realize the bellow function.

Considered I defined two folders in plone to post the pages or other things.

I want to define a shortcut for each of the folders. the shortcut could be realized in the plone template or in the portlets then i can see that at any place in the plone site.

and the function is posting a defined type(page/file/image) in a defined place(folder),

the main purpose is make some well-regulated action easy to be done,  just like windows desktop shortcut, we can just one click and run the program.
we don't need to find the program folder and click the *.exe file.

if no this shortcut in plone, every time i post some thing in the folder, i need to several clicks and go into that folder then select the type and post it.

Is there some solution in plone?  or maybe not hard,  some suggestion about how to realize it.  thanks

Best regards,
Sensen

No, the folder mentioned can display many type of objects, but maybe most of them is page. so i want defined a shortcut.  when i click this shortcut, i realize a action that post a new page in that folder.

so, if the most of type of objects i want to post in that folder is image, so i defined a shortcut to realize post a new image in that folder.

so this required shortcut function need at least two options.

one is where (the place you want to post objects into)
another is type (what type of object you want to post)

Do you want a portlet that is a link to these folders?

the shortcut should be viewable for the user at any page, so i think it need to be realized in the plone temple file or in the portlet.

Espen

thank you.

I believe I understand...

Let's say you have a site with some top-level folders and each contains two or three folders, etc... etc...

Instead of navigating all the way from the the home page (http://sample.com/) to some folder deep inside the site (http://sample.com/category5/brand3/typeM/color84/)... Sensen wants to create a new page/image/file/event, THEN specify the location?

Or if it's not as complex of a site, does he/she just want a link (within a portlet?) like "Quick Sales News Post"  which would automatically take you the sales department's news folder and start a new News Item there.

Is post action the same as "add content to a spesific folder"?

exactly!

If so, you could maybe get away with adding something to that folder and copy the url, then use this as the shortcut .

There is a (extremely small) chance that the url would be the same as something else

This is probably not the perfect way of doing it, but should work (why not bookmark this in your browser)

bookmark. great.

I didn't think that way. I just checked it. the url can include the action command like add new page.

so it works.  i add two bookmarks in my browser like bellow.

http://mywebsite:8080/plone/simple-blog/createObject?type_name=Document

http://mywebsite:8080/plone/simple-work/createObject?type_name=Document

I got it.

Thank, Espen and Ezra.

Best regards,
sensen
