Hello,

 

I installed the VMWare appliance and connected Photon to it. When I try to place an order through Photon I get the following error:

 

18:14:36,342 ERROR - Order rejected 1185325761374-xxx goog: The OMS is currently not logged on to any FIX destination.

Also, when I visit http://exchange.marketcetera.com/marketDisplay/ I see the message: "We are sorry, but there was an error accessing the exchange: Unable to send initial market data request. Please try again later.".

Is the exchange simulator down? What else could be the problem?

Jorge,

Regarding the exchange simulator: you caught us right in the middle of
doing an upgrade :)

As we are nearing the 0.4.0 release, we are starting to test the
updated version of the exchange simulator (it'll offer a new quotefeed
simulator based on the orders actually in the exchange, along with the
"old-school" randomized quote simulator).

As a result, the Exchange Simulator may be a little unstable for the
next couple days as we iron out all the final bugs and keep
experimenting with the simulator.

To answer your "OMS is not connected" question - that may be the exact
reason why it's not working.
Also, if you have not configured your appliance to specify a
particular senderCompID, the Exchange may be rejecting you if you are
using a default MKTC-OMS value.
