dvd to avi

this is a great site to download movies on.........
But i was wondering what is a real good and easy program to convert my DVD'S to AVI???
I've try a few different programs but they don't seem to work very good......
Or at least it most likely my fault not doing it right....
there must be a easier and better way (FREE) to go from DVD to AVI...

It takes you step by step on how to do it. If you don't like that then just go to a torrent site and there's a butt load of programs you can get that will do the job.
