dummy wave form vs stripy blocks.

Hi all,

I've been experimenting with the "dummy waveform".  The results are in
a very early stage, but I'm not happy with them.  I'm attaching a
screenshot for the dummy waveform.

At best I could make the waveform more dynamic peak/rms-like and
animate it, but I am beginning to have my doubts that this is better
to the striped blocks.

I've grown accustomed to the striped blocks, so I need a more unbiased
opinion.

Should i keep trying to draw a dummy waveform?  A "tool tip" will pop
up along with the percentage complete upon a mouse over, explaining
that the blocks are usable, so I don't think that's so much an issue.

Michael

I guess you saw my 2p on:

i.e maybe have something like a "real" peak/rms waveform, animated with
your two original stripy colours.
