Hi, I live in Brisbane, Australia and the name of our house was named by a previous owner, as do carbe.  A copper sign is attached to the front entrance with the name, "do carbe".  I'm aware that "Carbes" is a communes of the Tarn department in France.

My neighbour recalls that a Portuguese family built the house, and named it.  Otherwise, I have few clues.  I thought that this forum might be able to help me with the translation of the name, do carbe, to English or help with the lineage of the name.

Thanks in advance.

Steve
