converting to CBU

PM is converting 9 curb-side boxes to CBU, most of these boxes have been curb-side for 10+ years.  There is a new development going in as an extension of this street and they put a CBU at the end of the street to serve a new development and since the boxes are close to CBU she sent notice to curb-side customers that they should stop in for keys because they will be getting their mail in CBU starting next week.  The only references I can find are from 1983, a memorandum stating that converting to CBU's in an older development is only done when requested by residents and from the Oct. 1983 NRLC a paragraph stating the once mode of delivery is established it is not Postal policy to change it.  I am the RCA, regular just does what PM wants.  Can I file a grievance (do I have a grievance?) without regular and how do I find a steward to contact because we don't have an assistant state steward listed for my area and can't get state steward to call me back.  Thanks for any help.

If you can't get the state steward to call you back, leave him a message that you're calling the national office, then do so.

Yes, you can file a grievance, since this will affect your pay and workiing conditions.63G87

If the curb deliveries dont complain, theyll get away with it, had over 200 deliveries, go to cbu about 9 years ago, some idiot at the townhouses  told people it would be good to have locked boxes, now half the dopes dont empty their boxes but once in 3 or 4 weeks,      cant walk 50 yds to get their mail, if you get the cbu , ask for parcel lockers also each worth 2 min a week!  I have the big heavy duty platic NDBCDUs some have 2 parcel lockers on the bottom, smaller ones have one!

i hate to see grievances on things that make sense.  why wouldn't these customers want to have locking boxes?  save your energy for something else.

idontlikerocks, what planet do you live on??

CBU customers never pick their mail up, and I never interact with them.  There are other options if a customer wants a box that locks.  Why would you tell another carrier to take a loss and suck it up?  File a grievance if the contract is being violated.  Protect yourself.
