i made this from stuff i had laying around i needed to use up, so it really is maybe 'asian-style leftovers soup" :)

4 hand shot, cooked quail
dried chinese wood ear mushrooms
ginger
soy sauce
5 spice powder
garlic black bean sauce
mild dry white wine
bok choy (cut into 1-2 inch pieces)
tofu

i happened to have a bunch of these quail, which i cut into quarters or so.  beware the small, sharp bones and shot.  add other ingredients except tofu and simmer for a couple of hours.  dont open pot, leave on stove top overnight.  fridge in the morning, then reheat at night with diced tofu.  yum.
