Recently i was notified of a comment on a how-to i wrote. It requested me to
make the necessary alterations, and then remove the comment. The full text will be familiar to you, but i include it below. However, at present it's not possible for me to moderate comments on the item. I've made a feature request at the plone.org website issue tracker (https://dev.plone.org/plone.org/ticket/1370). I really think authors should be able to toss away comments after processing, but in the meantime, maybe it would be a good idea to find another way to get them removed. It would make how-to's look less like mailing lists. Starting with mine: I would be grateful if someone were kind enough to remove the comments on the item linked below. Hi Kees-
This is something we're all dealing with and according to the plone.org admin/website list, they have a plan of some sort. We do have a plan for commenting that should help but it won't be rolled out until we migrate plone.org/documentation to the latest version of PHC. Be patient! We will get this taken care of, I promise! JoAnna On Thu, Apr 30, 2009 at 8:52 AM, Kees Hink <[hidden email]> wrote: > Recently i was notified of a comment on a how-to i wrote. I've removed the comment and closed the ticket.
We've adjusted the permissions in the documentation area since we're moving toward a new manual-based system that editors will manage, which is why you didn't have rights. Sorry about that... Actually ... authors have never had the right to remove comments from
published documents. This is a major pain, and part of why we're moving to a commentless model. Instead, anyone with "documentation collective" rights (which should include all authors), will be able to edit anywhere except in the manual's section.
