| Subject: [Audacity-help] audacity troubles
| I am trying to use Audacity for a class at the local college, but my
| laptop only show me a line-in and microphone for input for recording.
| It won't allow me to do any adjustments to get anything else.
Audacity is completely reliant on the drivers of your laptop's sound device
as to what recording sources it shows. What is it you want to record, for
example sound playing on the computer? Are you on a Windows computer?
If so, you will need to go into the Windows Control Panel to the mixer for
the sound device, and see if you can enable and choose the input you want
there. Please see this page for help:
