Well what kind of ideas do you have? Are they plot lines? Characters? Settings?

I would humbly suggest organising them into those categories, and then meshing them so that they can work together.

If you're finding it difficult to actually write. I'm afraid I know no clear-cut solution apart from just simpyl WRITE!!!

Even if it turns out to be total crap, if you keep writing, you'll suddenly be hit with inspiration on how to start, and you can always edit it if your on a Word Processor.

Hope that helps!

I usually have the opposite problem, so I don't know how much help I'll be but here's an idea:  try working backwards.  If you know your characters really well, think about what kind of decisions they would make that could take them to the ending.  Other than that, I have to agree with Sultan.  Just WRITE!

Here is an episode of an excellent podcast on writing.  The theme is BIC HOK...ie Butt in Chair, Hands on Keyboard.  Sometimes you just have to start writing.  You can always edit it, throw it away, or throw half of it away and get a few good parts out of it.

In large measure, I say take this advice. However, it's also important to make sure you're getting proper nutrition (this can influence the way you think and how easy it is to write creatively). Especially take note of how much Omega 3 fat you get—nuts, eggs, fish and other things may help, but try not to go overboard. I mean, if you eat too many of them, your body might get used to metabolizing them a little too well, and you might suffer the worse for a while if you stop the intake. Be quite sure not to eat too many eggs (that can cause problems). But, eat healthily.

That is interesting advice.  I know how important it is to eat well, but I never thought of nutrition being able to affect your thinking and creativity.  It makes sense though; like getting enough sleep, it affects how much energy you have.  I think it could be applied to a lot of different activities (like music auditions, for example!) I will take that advice for certain.

Just something I use to help cure writers block it might help somebody reading this thread.

When I have an idea that I can't seem to develop I start with the characters. I write down everything I know about them. Hair color, length, piercings, tattoos, the stories behind the tattoos and piercings, how tall they are, what their parents are like, what their friends are like, what they would and would not do for these people, so forth and so on down to their likes and dislikes. Write about their beliefs, how strong they feel about them, how far they'll take them. Usually while expanding my characters I discover that there are some things my character just will not abide by, once I figure this out I start creating a character that will abide by these things and I have a protagonist and an antagonist. From there I try to think up scenarios that would get these two characters together more times than not this leads to a plot line and a story. Hope this helps somebody. D.
