The VTPO forum began life on Yahoo and has grown to 200 members.  Due to performance issues, space limittations, and apparent web bugs, the moderator has taken the decision to move this forum to Nabble.   The jOrgan forum is also found here on Nabble.

Comments on ways to improve this forum are welcomed.

Best Regards,

Joe Hardy

Hi Joe

My old eyes find it hard to read white type on dark blue. Can individuals customize their 'view'?

Dennis,

Thank you for your feedback.  I have changed the style to dark text on a light background.  I hope this is more readable.

Good move. Looks great and even more in keeping with the level of posts and information shared on this topic. Curious about security, but it appears to be better.

Thanks and rgds,

Some javascript/style in this post has been disabled (why?)
Re: Welcome to VTPO on Nabble Joe,

It’s much better.

How do we get notified of all new posts or replies as we did on the Yahoo version? Have I missed an option or such?

Thanks Joe. Looks great so far. I have to agree with you on Yahoo. News today says they are laying off 700 employees.

It was easy to find you here.  Registration was easy too.  Let's hope not too easy for the spam bots to get into.

Good move Joe. Yahoo has always been difficult if not impossible!
Will we automatically get posts in email, as with Yahoo, or do we have to log on to Nabble to get them?
As long as we all know, it's OK.

Joe,

Thank you for the move to Nabble! This should be so much
better. Between the missed email notifications and the
occasional lonely women, Yahoo was becoming a real trial! lol

As many and diverse as the problems were with Yahoo, when it worked, it definitely was faster to keep up with current posts. You didn't have to do the subscribe bit. I find naviagating on the new MidiTzer Forum equally time consuming and as a result, I rarely go there anymore. We used to get all the post to VTPO and could get to them quickly. This isn't a complaint, exactly, but I don't seem, on my own  to find a solution. Many days, my time is quite scarce and I may not be able to come here as often. Agree with the reasons for changing, etc, but hoping there is a solution or maybe something I'm missing.

If you subscribe to the 'forum' - you will get each new message as an
email just like you did on Yahoo. To do this go the forum page
(http://n2.nabble.com/VTPO-f2676165.html) click on Options and select
'Subscribe via email', etc.

Thanks, Graham. Indeed I missed that option. I position my web site pages down a bit because I have shortcuts and utilities across the top that I use. That option item was just down below the visible area. I was subscribing to the individual topics which was tgime consuming as I mentioned.

Better now.

or...

You can use one of the Nabble Atom Feeds in your email program, browser, or aggregator. That way you don't tie up your email box with lots of stuff. The VTPO stuff can be in a separate place.

The poll on Yahoo has closed.  Here are the final results:

POLL QUESTION: Would you prefer to keep the Yahoo version of the VTPO forum
going or move to the Nabble VTPO forum?

CHOICES AND RESULTS
- Stay with Yahoo VTPO forum, 17 votes, 42.50%
- Move to Nabble VTPO forum, 23 votes, 57.50%

Nabble wins, but with a sizable minority of those who would rather stay with Yahoo, I have retracted the decision to kill that forum.  The real action seems to be here right now.  Thanks to those who are actively contributing to the discussions.
