Yes you can quote me on that. Why do I think so? Well first, because the bunch of grapes in this suggested meal has more nutritional value and less sugar than most of the ingredients in the pile of pasta salad next to it.
Weight Watchers may give you a meal of some sort, and in small enough portions with few enough calories to cause you to stop gaining weight or maybe even lose some if you're heavy enough. What it doesn't do is take away the cravings that cause us to freak out and binge. Only whole, raw or semi-raw foods do that. Don't trust any diet that recommends anything with ingredients in it. That's your fail-safe.
Now a fun carbs-to-sugars session of Did-You-Know...
A pack of ramen has more sugars than a cup of spaghetti.
A cup of spaghetti has more sugars than a cup of cooked rice.
A cup of cooked rice has more sugars than a cup of grapes.
A cup of grapes has more sugars than a cup of sliced peaches.
You'd have to eat about 4 nectarines or peaches to get as much sugars as ONE PACK OF RAMEN.
You'd have to eat about 2 bananas to get that much sugars.
There is as much sugars in ONE average slice of white bread as there is in a large bunch of grapes (about 16!) and not nearly the nutritional content.
And that's just fruit. The sweetest most sugar/energy packed stuff in the natural world (other than honey and nectar). Vegetables are even healthier, packing in more vitamins and minerals per ounce than fruit by a long shot. This is what your body needs.
Here is a simple formula...
If you want to stop gaining weight, and maybe lose some weight with exercise: Eat only whole foods.
If you want to stop cravings and lose weight with exercise: Eat whole foods. Raw fruits and veggies, and some cooked meats.
If you want to stop cravings and lose weight (no exercise): Eat only RAW whole foods.
That's it! And I assume you know that also means only natural drinks too. Whole drinks could include tea or fresh squeezed juices. No store bought juice, that stuff is also bad news. But there is more good news!
You can make AMAZING desserts with fresh raw ingredients. They are so healthy, you can even eat them as a meal. Can you imagine eating dessert for dinner and losing weight? THAT is something only a raw lifestyle can give you. Check out this blog...
yummmm yummmmm!!!
