Wasn't Wayne Bridges a great wrestler? He was World heavyweight champion but doesn't get much of a mention on this site. He beat Mighty Quinn and just about everyone else. Did he ever wrestle Big daddy? probably not as he could have shown him up for what he was.

Hello Boston Crab, I agree Wayne Bridges was one of the greatest heavyweights in the world and a true professional both in and out of the ring.  In answer to your question in relation to whether he wrestled Big Daddy the answer is yes and the results are as follows:-

28.07.76  Great Yarmouth    -  Daddy win
16.09.76  Gravesend   -  Daddy win
01.10.76  Chatham   -  Bridges win
02.11.76  Hastings   -  Daddy win
17.11.76  Southend  -  result not known
01.12.76  Brighton   -  Daddy win
20.01.77  Dorking   -  rresult not known

I hope that the above is helpful to you.

Impressive detail there Kenny, keep it up! Chalk and cheese, really. Can we say Bridges was better than Daddy? They were put on this planet to do different jobs. Wayne Bridges was a good technical wrestler, and all credit to him. In his latter years Daddy was everything that Bridges was not, but remember he had greater mobility and skill when younger, and was BWF heavyweight champion for a time. He was also a huge crowd puller who entertained millions. Daddy won those matches because he had to win them - his very existence was dependent upon winning. That wasn't the case with Bridges. He lost, but everyone still acknowledged he was a great technical wrestler, and a worthy champion.

That's interesting Hack. You say that Wayne Bridges didn't need to win and yet he was World Champion. Don't you think that a champion would need to win all their matches. How could he claim to be a champion if he didn't win?

i loved that man from the day i met him way back in l974 in prince george canada when he wrestled for the west coast promotions, and i never quit loving him. he definately was absolutely wonderful, i hope he had a great life. he definately was the yardstick every other man had to measure up to.
