So we now know where everyone's from and people seem keen to meet up again. The question is when and where.

For preference, somewhere where there aren't thousands of out of control dogs, and where we can all get to.

Any ideas?

Hi,
I know I wont be able to come 'cos you guys live way up North, but if you're looking for suggestions....maybe local beaches and parks seem the best opp. Probably no help at all!
Love Becky x

Right then I'll take up Connor's mam's bait and make a suggestion

How about walridge fell which is between durham and chester-le-street or go to the beach - crimdon or seaton carew were other suggestions someone made on a previous thread

We'd be interested, too. How about going to the beach, (if they allow dogs), eg Druridge Bay, Seaton Sluice, (not that I've been there), or even Boulmer?

South Shields, Seaburn and Seaton Carew beaches are closed to dogs in summer. I asked tourist info ages ago.

I love Northumberland, but it's an an hour and a half each way.... and probably closer to 3 hours for Michelle (who we are still trying to get to come and see all the hounds she's helped home)

Chris? Are you able to travel yet.

From where we all are and various other threads.....

Alfie, Boo, Skye, Kenny, Rosko, Jeanie and Kish live in darkest Yorkshire (aka Selby)

Bob, Brenya and Connor in Darlington
Wolfie and Nikki near Wynard Woods somewhere
Susie and Obi in Washington
Hope and Rufus in Chester-le-St
Jenny and Molly at Seaham (Chis may not be able to drive at the mo)
Lottie in Blackhall
Sophie lives west of Durham
Daisy is on South Tyneside

Danny's in Kent

If I've missed anyone please shout- I've looked through some threads but not all of them

Ideas so far are....
mid Durham seems fairly central.
Waldridge Fell near Chester-le-Street
Wynyard Woodland Walk worked well (so well we go twice a week now)
Seaham beach (near Chris, Molly and Jenny as Chris can't drive much at the mo)
Crimdon beach (Durham coast)
Northumberland beaches
Day trip down to Yorkshire to visit Kenny and Michelle

I'm happy to travel within an hour of Darlo.... but would make an exception if we decided to go visit Kenny!

Hi I am fine to travel now, Not to far about an hour would be Molly's limit as she is not too keen on the car. She will have to get used to it as we bought a caravan near bishop aukland a little village called Ramshaw so we can take them away more often

Seaham beach is dog friendly according to this website http://www.goodbeachguide.co.uk/.  I've never been since a kid so not sure what its like but seems a long stretch of sand and could be quite a central spot as we we seem to be more clustered a bit further north now.  As its close to sunderland - perhaps michelle could link it with a trip to Steve's??????

We also have a caravan.  Ours is at Warkworth so our two spend loads of time on the Northumberland beaches.  I love Druridge and Beadnell bays but it is a bit far for our more southern based hounds to bring their mams and dads for a walk.  We are up most weekends and their behaviour changes aroudn lunchtime on a Friday when you can almost hear them chanting 'caravan, caravan, caravan' before pushing you out of the way to get into the car!  You have been warned Chris!

Seaham beach will have changed since you were a kid.it is usually fairly quiet. if it was arranged for their the best place to park would be the car park opposite East Shore village previously Vane Tempest Pit. the Seaham Hall car park has to many steps .

jenny and molly loved the caravan only problem was Molly uses a cage on a night at home and she looked for it so she could settled down for the night

To try and move this along..... can I make a suggestion

A beach walk at Seaham
Sunday 5th July in the morning

(I think that's the right way round http://www.sunderland.gov.uk/pages/travel-info/Tide-Times-09.pdf)

We can sort out directions to car parks etc once we know where and when we are going

Would that work for people?

depending on what time you are going  in the morning I start work at 12.15 so if you were meeting about 10 am I would still be able to go

*bump*

Just to remind everyone that we're having a walk next weekend at Seaham. Meet at 10am on Sunday.

Jenny and Molly's Mam. I'm trying to make a map to show people where we'll meet.... but I'm having problems working out where Vane Tempest pit used to be. Can you describe where it is on this map- then I;ll get an accurate street map with a big X on it for us all.

Sorry to be dense Jenny and Molly's Mam. We've been to Seaham loads but usually just to potter on Toxic and Blast beaches (Alien fans take note- the opening sequence was filmed there) so I'l need help with this one.

I'll change the thread title to include the date as well
