Audacity can only record the signal it receives. Check the connections
between tape deck and your computer line-in port, and the alignment
of the tape heads. Perhaps one channel containing mainly the voice did
not record properly. If you exported a file like an MP3 from the
recording and that file is lacking the main voice, check that you did
not split the stereo track into two channels then did File > Export
Selection as..., so possibly exported only one channel. Check that you
did not knock the -....+ gain or L....R pan sliders on the Audacity Track
Panel, so killing one channel, or altering the balance.
