Hello - does anyone know of any virtual data room sites that use plone as the CMS or have implemented this concept within their own plone site? We are looking at different options and currently have our intranet within plone and I am wondering if we could adjust the site to add in the additional security elements like watermarking or preventing document content from being downloaded, seeing who viewed documents, length of time they were viewed, etc. We have used only the basic functions within plone and I know it is customizable but am wondering if some of these elements are within plone already. Thank you for your time!

Sorry - a virtual data room is being used during sales of companies as a place to hold documents that can be viewed by the bidders. There are many hosting companies that provide this service and here is an explanation from one company. http://www.bowne.com/services/virtualdataroom.asp

Such requirements require further customizations and coding.

Interesting... They promise that they can prevent your docs from being
"screen shot."  I'm pretty sure that impossible.  If it's on my
screen, I can always take a copy; They can't stop me.

Perhaps what they mean is that the watermark will make sure that any
screenshot is branded.  But the marketing language on that site
appears intended to mislead.

Not knowing the details, it seems like the only real hurdle you have
is the watermark thing (presumably either images or some sort of
secured pdf) and possibly some extra tracking.  As Andreas has already
said, I'm not aware of any existing add-on that does this so this will
take some custom programming.  Although it doesn't sound like a
terribly difficult job to code.

Another option is to use a Virtual Data Room from ShareFile or one from v-rooms. pretty good services.

Thank you - we actually researched these options and have decided when we are ready to go with one of the outsourced virtual data room providers. Thanks for taking the time to respond to this!
