Using R functions in r.mapcalc?

Hi

is it possible to use R functions in r.mapcalc? I guess not, but I think
it would be great if this would be possible.

You can't use R functions directly, but you can use R in shell scripting. So, IMHO, it makes no sense thinking to a "porting" of R into Grass. Using spgrass6 you can easily use R with r.mapcalc too...
