Use of Mono.

A tad bit off-topic, but is there any experience using MONO to bypass the use of .NET framework. I basically have no idea what I am doing so tips (if any exist) are good.

Barrett,

We haven't looked at using Mono instead of the custom COM adapter we
wrote for communicating via ActiveMQ message bus.

What has your experience been with it? Are you trying to minimize the
amount of platform-specific code and that's why you are looking at
Mono?

IMHO, using Mono can help with cross platform issue as long as we only
use non-windows specific api.
