Wow - what an impressive presentation tonight at the
library. If you missed it, you should promise yourself not to miss another
thing that Red Rock Forests brings to our area. Amazing, Vital information
about our world and what's happening around us that will affect our planet For
Ever. Thanks Terry, Harold & Josie! I wanted to report back on Lance. He's home, looking a
little road weary and thin. I took him dinner tonight and asked the questions
that were put forth: He eats at 6:30 ish He needs to stay away from High fat foods, as his gall
bladder is compromised He's not a vegetarian His appetite is quite small Soups are great, chili may be a bit much (sorry Celia,
but it sounds great to me!) That's all I have to tell you other than he is Quite
Grateful for this gesture and I know will enjoy the care from his Community. FYI - I put tonights food in a bag and hung it on his
door, in case he was napping. I'm not saying that's the thing to do, but just
a thought regarding respecting his current diminished energy level. Can those interested in being involved please respond to
the list so we can get the meals covered? Tim & Audrey have stepped up, so
let's just say - Plan on meals for the next 2 weeks and if he gets stronger
faster, we'll adjust. Can someone take tomorrow night? Thanks to all who participate
and fostering our beautiful community. Just for the record, Audrey and I are planning to take a meal to Lance for this evening (Wed. 1 Oct). We'll be gone after tomorrow through Sun. but can get back in line for more meals after that. Thanks to everyone for helping Lance, he's a great resource for our community. Tim Quoting Julianne <[hidden email]>: > Wow - what an impressive presentation tonight at the library. Howdy, This link will take you to a story with pictures of a low income housing project in Cape Town South Africa where Luyanda Mphahlwa and MMI Architects just won the Curry Stone Design Prize for developing a post and beam/sand bag infill house for the cost of $6,900-$8,900 each. http://www.dezeen.com/2008/03/02/sand-bag-houses-by-mma-architects-3/ This is the kind of simple cost effective architecture that would fit into our community. However, most of the labor is provided by sweat equity labor. People that build their own houses take better care of them. This is a link to a radio interview with the architect on NPR; http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=95128730 Kaki --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Canyonlands Sustainable Solutions" group.
