Matthew 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Most people familiar with Mathew 24:40 believe that this is speaking of an end time rapture involving two different people, one goes with God and the other is destroyed or left behind to suffer tribulation.

But let's think outside the box for a moment. With scripture we will soon see that this verse is actually hiding an incredible truth that at this point in Christian history, 99.9% do not see.

Mark 4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

Mathew 24:40 is actually speaking of one person circumcised by the word of God. When the Word first came to you, you were cut in two separating the old man (flesh) from the new man (inward man).

1John 3:8,9 display this hidden truth perfectly. " He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1 Corinthians 15:47-49 "The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly."

Mt 8:5-10 "And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel."

John 6:63 "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life".

Ecclesiastes 4:15 "I considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead."

Romans 9:21 "Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?"

Mathew 24:40 "Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left."

Take some time to ponder these things and if you have any questions just leave a comment. - michael144

Isen't there a scripture about two men lying together that also ties into this?  I can't find it.  At one point I think I highlighted it, and put a note in my Bible to it, but I have so many pages like that now that I can't find it.  Can't remember enough of the scripture to get a search.  Can you help with this?  I was wanting to reread the chapter.  Thanks

Isn't it interesting that the very text you are using to back up your notion that all will be saved contradicts your idea? Plain and simple. One will be taken - the righteous, and one is left behind - the wicked. The secret rapture believers have done the same thing. They base their secret rapture theory on 1 Thes 4:16,17 which contradicts the spin they're putting on it! Breaking common sense rules of exegesis will land you in the wrong place every time. You can't use a more obscure interpretation to get the meaning at what is plain and simple.

My reply:

Yes these next few scriptures are SO obscure:

Ecclesiastes 4:15 I considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead.

Luke 17:34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

Quote:
Matthew 13:13-15 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Coverted and healed from what? SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Romans 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

Romans 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Romans 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

Romans 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

Romans 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

2 Corinthians 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. (I die daily)

Why is it a beautiful thing that we still sin and recognize it?

1 Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

1 Corinthians 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

1 Corinthians 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
