I have a product that uses a handful of vocabularies to categorize
content types. These are handled by ATVocabularyManager
(simplevocabulary) and the vocabs and terms are created when the
product is installed. The product also creates a matching set of
folders and collections/smartfolders for the vocabs. So there is a
folder 'genre' which contains a set of collections - one for each
genre term, with the criteria set to match that vocab term.
>From what the user sees, the vocab is used when the user creates an
item, and the matching smart folder is used when the user is browsing
content.
>From what I understand, Collections are 'content', so translations
need to be handled by LinguaPlone, and I would need to add (in the
product install code) a translation for each collection, and set the
appropriate criteria (which will be the same as for the canonical).
i.e. it wouldn't just be enough to include the translation in the po
file.
On the other hand, I'm uncertain whether the vocab terms are content
or not - my first thought was that they are, as I can create vocab
terms in the plone site, but I have seen some list postings suggesting
that they are handled automatically if present in the po file. What is
the case here?
Is my approach to this the/a right way to go about this, or is there
an easier way?
Are there any good guides or references I could be using?
