Too much memory on a single instance ?

Hi all,

I'm just install a brand new Plone 3.3.1 on my computer and note that the memory usage is unusual high:
It takes about 500Mb Vir / 170Mb Res (measure by /sbin/top) for a "blank" (just after the buildout, no addon products, no heavy data.fs) instance.
The environment is CentOS 5, X86_64, python 2.4.3
How much the resource in your cases ? Is this normal or a problem ?

Thanks,

First of all, jiken: This forum is mainly intended for Gurus. We ordinary mortals usually hang around in e.g. "General Questions" or "Installation, Setup, Upgrades".

Plone is memory hungry. I believe that your values are pretty normal.

It's not so much about "gurus" vs. "ordinary mortals", but IMHO, more
that plone-developers is intended for discussion about the development
*of* Plone itself, while general questions, etc. are about actually
*using* Plone to develop websites.   People of all skill/experience
levels are welcome everywhere!  :-)
