Here's the URL: http://www.tiddlyspot.com/

TiddlySpot is a place that hosts TiddlyWikis for free (see http://www.tiddlywiki.com/ for more about them, or even my review on Nabble about them).

Anyway, this is a rather nice service.  Basically, it hosts TiddlyWikis.  They may place advertisements there, but currently they don't seem to have them (I've seen one with the advertisements, and it wasn't bad, as the banner went below new tiddlers instead of above them).

Cons:
You can't just upload your own TiddlyWiki - you have to work with the ones they have available for you.  Of course, you can change the StyleSheet, but that might not satisfy everyone.
EDIT: apparently, there's a way to upload your own—see the reply to this post.

Actually you can host your own TiddlyWiki at tiddlyspot.  You just need to add the upload plugin so you can save your stuff back to the server.

Cool.  So, do you have it on your computer, and upload it through the code of the one on your computer to the server—or, do you go to the one on Tiddlyspot already and upload it from there?  I mean, which one do you add the plug-in to?  It might sound like a weird question.

Also, is there any way to remove the save changes link, for those who only use save to web?

Just curious.

Are you into TiddlyWikis, or are you a random researcher or some other such?

Thanks for the tip!

To put your own TW onto tiddlyspot, you sign up for a site to reserve the name.  That will get you a new empty tiddlyspot TiddlyWiki that you are going to replace with your own.  You just need to grab the UploadPlugin and TspotSetupPlugin out of it.  Copy/import/whatever both of those into your existing TiddlyWiki on your hard drive (backup first, obviously).

Then save and re-open your original TiddlyWiki to activate the plugins.  TspotSetupPlugin will add the right buttons to your sidebar.  The recent versions of UploadPlugin hide the local save button if it's useless (like when you're looking at the http site).  Clicking save-to-web will send this TiddlyWiki to tiddlyspot, replacing the new empty one you created just before.

Once you have your TiddlyWiki set up, you can save it to tiddlyspot whenever you want.
- you can edit it directly at the site url of http://whatever.tiddlyspot.com
- you can have it on your hard drive, use save-changes to save stuff locally, and click save-to-web occasionally when you want to make a "backup" onto tiddlyspot.

if you really want to never see the save-changes link, edit your SidebarOptions and remove it.  I dunno if i'd recommend that though.

There's loads of friendly help on the google group: http://groups.google.com/group/TiddlyWiki

Cheers
(just another TiddlyWiki fan..)
