Man what a long day.

The day started on an odd note. As I explained in an earlier update, the Association and the Auxiliary boards and the Lawyers and CPAs Have been working on a affiliation agreement. Right now it's only a rough draft. Well a copy of the rough draft was given to the Auxiliary Delegates which caused a firestorm within the Auxiliary. To answer that, Donnie Pitts opened today's session with a joint session to set the record straight.
Auxiliary President Miller gave a moving speech which may have smoothed things over.  After that the joint session ended.

Then we began with the resolutions. There were 12 binding resolutions and 247 resolutions. Many were passed by the gavel, the rest were debated and voted on. The one nice thing this year was that there were no courtesy resolutions this year (yea). Tomorrow we should finish off the resolutions. I will post which ones did pass at a later date.

Tomorrow is also the elections, given all the candidates, this can make for a long day. What will help is that there is no appeals committee report to go through (thank God for small favors).

Rumor has it re: the Auxiliary that somebody's kid beat up somebody else's kid.  Liability worries.  (Enough with the Auxiliary already, cut the financial umbilical chord and let 'em go.)

Caucuses tonight... Colorado's state prez is running for Nat. prez... a former teamster, woohoo!  Would be cool if he won... too many old retiree delegates though (who probably haven't run a route in 20 years) so we'll probably wind up stuck with business as usual.

Since when can't a "Republican" run for the position as a National Labor leader?  Do you happen to know if every one of the NRLCA's officer are democrats?  Personally, in local and national elections I don't vote the party line - and have never done so as a delegate to a State and/or National Convention.
