I had met a wonderful young man online in 2004 who was and still is a very amazing gay erotica writer. I fell in love with his writing which then inspired me to pick up writing again.
So I went for it. I created three main characters that I wanted to fall in love with each other and explore the overrated ménage a trois, but I wanted to put my own spin on it. Since two female one male was more common, possibly because of its appearance in pornographic films, I decided to try two male one female.
Now, I didn’t want to write porn so I decided to make the two most important characters college boys who were already in love. The last thing I wanted was three
strangers jumping into bed on every page.
Marc is insecure, sensitive, and a worrier who doubts that Brian loves him as much as he says he does. And Brian is the most attractive, popular, blonde boy that happens to like men and women, but only wants Marc. Janice comes in as a bashful, timid, bookworm who has a huge crush on Marc. The three gets together in the most interesting way.
There is a fourth character that wants Brian sexually. She’s rejected and finds out that her friend Janice is involved with both Brian and Marc, which provokes her to threaten to ruin their reputations.
I wanted to craft characters and situations that seem real. And mostly I wanted to show how two men can be in love with each other and the same girl, and the impact that could take on the relationship. The book is meant to be fun and entertaining, it’s not that serious. But those feelings were behind the idea.
