How is it when we are the party of Lincoln that we are seen as the white party?
I think we have let the democrats use this against us for too long.  
For instance welfare, because we want to give a hand up instead of a hand out we are seen as the party that is against minorities. We need to convey how getting a hand up instead of getting the hand out is better and reward for trying instead of being punished.

This is going to be a hard battle to fight, but it's one that we must take up.  Growing up in Springfield, Illinois I was constantly reminded of his great leadership.  I too was reminded of the race riots in 1908 in Springfield that borne the NAACP.  I think the NRCC should flood America with "Did you Know" booklets and go through our history starting off with the beginning of the Republican Party in Texas.  It wasn't started by people in white sheets (that would be the other party).  I think that would be a start, but much more will need to follow.

A history of the Republican Party would be great - that we really are fair-minded and what it means to be a true conservative.  Most schools these days do not give our children the full story in history class.  It's a biased, twisted version of history that the NEA wants them to know. My son's history book is written by CNN.  Tell me that's not bias. I am convinced this why it is such an uphill battle for us to reach the younger generation.  They have been spoon fed one side of the story by teachers who have an agenda.

The reason is that the Democrats want to "spread the wealth" instead of helping people to create their own wealth.
