The British Pantry Ltd. is a British style bakery, grocery and gift shop with a full service restaurant called “Neville’s at The British Pantry.” In 2001 they will celebrate their 23rd anniversary in the same location, having expanded four times since opening in 1978.
The business is owned and operated by the Redman family, (Fred, Mavis, Neville and Alvia) with the baking expertise of three generations. Mavis’s family, the Richardson’s were bakers in England, where she learned her craft working at her fathers side at their bakery in Swinton, near Manchester. Mavis’s son Neville and daughter Alvia have both worked in the business since it opened, learning the traditional baking skills required to carry on the family tradition of authentic British baking.
Although they cannot claim a Royal Charter, they have provided traditional British fare to Prince Charles on his return flight from Japan and to Prince Philip on his visit to NW Trek.
The British Pantry have specialized in British Food for 25 years. It is now possible to order your British Food direct. They have a huge range of British food. Cadbury Flakes, Cadbury Crunchies, Branston, Marmite, Oxo, Crisps, sausages, meat pies... as well as other items you miss from the UK but just can't find in the USA.
Neville’s at The British Pantry Ltd. is now open seven days a week, although the hours are not the same all days. You can enjoy lunch or afternoon tea any day of the week. Dinner is served Wednesday – Sunday night 5pm - 9pm, breakfast is only served on Sunday 10am – 12:00pm. In the morning drop in for a Pot of Tea with a fresh baked Scone, and Spinach Quiche.
This will keep you going until lunch at 11am, when you can have a Steak and Kidney Pie with Chips, Pasties with Peas, or try the best Fish and Chips in Seattle. After lunch stop in for Afternoon Tea, Finger Sandwiches, Cake or Tart, Scone with Jam and Cream, Fruit, and of course a Pot of Tea. For dinner the selections include Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding, Shepherd’s Pie, Chicken Wellington, Bangers & Mash etc. Neville prepares nightly specials like Rack of Lamb with Red Currant Sauce, Roast Leg of Lamb with Mint Sauce, Pork Tenderloin Medallions in an Orange Port Sauce, all prepared to order and presented superbly.
