I have already thought of these: Speed, telepathy, strength, healing, teleportation, invisibility, enhanced
sight/visions into the future, invulnerable, time manipulation, reality warping,
summoning, flight, shapeshifting, weather manipulation, luck alteration,
phasing, darkness/shadow manipulation, intelligence, absoption, duplication,
able to communicate with animals, just a few off the top of my head. So anyone can think of anythig else, please let me know =)

What are these for, out of curiosity?

Anyway, here's are a few you didn't mention (although I should note that they're not all original):
• The ability to become insubstantial (i.e. pass through doors, people and such)
• Genetic manipulation (of other things, or self—not the same thing as shape-shifting)
• Persuasion
• Compulsion
• Inspiration
• The ability to induce pleasure and/or pain
• Immortality (this doesn't mean they're tough in a fight, necessarily, though)
• Powers with such as sound, smell and other senses (making and/or perceiving sounds/smells/etc.)
• Power over microbes and/or parasites
• Knowledge
• Inter-dimensional travel (self and/or for other things, to/from; maybe you could make a superhero who could travel from dimension to dimension, but was unable to return to any dimension previously visited)
• Learning (i.e. never forgets and/or learns skills quickly)
• The ability to hide and/or find things extremely/impossibly well
• The ability to withstand extreme temperatures
• The ability to make others understand things well
• Shrink/grow (self and/or other things)
• Can re-grow limbs and other body parts (like a lizard—or even like a starfish so that the limb would grow into another person as well as the limb grow back)
• light manipulation (you can substitute light with any number of things: fire, temperature, water, sound, electricity, beauty, etc.)

Powers are one thing to consider, but considering creative limits to them can make things quite fun, as well.

Thank you so much for the suggestions. The powers are for 15 Elite Vampires i'm writing. I want each of them to have similar powers and then each have a very unique and individual power. =)

Just because it's the first one that came to my mind. Hypnosis as a superpower. The ability to overcome anothers god given free will, then have them think it was there idea in the first place or not even remember it at all. D.

As a superpower, I think that's a cool suggestion.

However, I might personally add that just about every mind-control story I've seen has those under the control forget everything that happened. It would be so refreshing if they would have them remember for once—and then they couldn't cheat to make the book end quickly. However, it would also seem a stronger violation of that person's free will.

I might argue that mind-control isn't necessarily control of someone's will, but rather control of that person's body (which is quite different). For there to be a will in the first place, in such a situation, it seems one would have to give it over freely, or by persuasion (however strong that persuasion may be). It seems there must be a contest of wills, or a gift of will given, to control someone else's in truth (rather than just a power to take it over no matter what the other person does).

Just my way of saying ignore that post as I was extremely tired, don't know why I decided to rant on like that. D.

It's okay. I'll take your advice and ignore the email with the post's contents, lest you were serious about ignoring it (although I think I saw the first line or two already). I know the feeling. I like to rant on and on at night—I've been known to continue until it gets light outside, for that matter.

You can read it if you want, I didn't realize just how entrenched I had become in front of my keyboard (day off and all that jazz), it's just kinda rantish (is that a word?) and has very little to do with fantasy. D.

Well, as long as it relates to the topics we're discussing (which topics should have to do with writing, generally, or fantasy writing) it's fine. I mean, if it strays off the topics of writing and fantasy, but it still relates to the thread topic, in my opinion, that's fine (as it may still give the poster or other people useful input). But, if you think it's too far off base, put OT: in the subject or before your rant and it's still fine to post it.
