Somebody Smashed Out My Window!

Somebody threw a rock through the back window of my personal vehicle while it was sitting in the Post Office parking lot.  Will the Post Office pay for my window?  My vehicle was on Postal property when it happened.  I can't believe that I would be responsible for paying for this.  Anybody know??

I honestly don't know.  I used to be  a steward, and can't find a definite answer.

I would contact your state steward before you make a claim on your comprehensive part of your auto insurance. It SHOULD be covered by USPS because your vehicle was on postal property to perform a necessary function of your employment. DOUG

leaving your personal vehicle on postal prperty is at your own risk no different than any other parking lot you will not get anything from them

I would look at the Tort Claim information to find your answer.  Sorry, I don't have a link right now but I bet you can find one with a little googling and maybe some information on the NRLCA site.

Well the cops actually caught the little kid who did it.  Thanks for MOST of the replies.
If the PO isn't responsible, then I know who to sue at least.
