Hello all,

I am a newbie to Second Life, and I have been spinning my wheels trying to get a good idea of what has been done and can be done in the environment.  I have visited well over 30 educational and healthcare related locations in second life that I have found from my own research, the Second Life Education Wiki, SLeducation Wiki, and recommendations from colleagues in the healthcare field.  Many of these locations require special privileges or won’t even allow me to teleport there.  I am interested in finding sites with quality simulations, visualizations (e.g. I was able to enter a cell on Genome Island), or gaming even if they aren’t in the healthcare field.  Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me.

Perplexity has a video related to *med specific / science sims.  /me rummages through old stuffy drawers and under couch cushions.

Check the links on the right, the fourth or fifth from the bottom is Science in Second Life – nice overview. There are a lot: So I’m sure others will provide many more.

Elena if you haven’t been yet check out the SLENZ Project (http://slenz.wordpress.com/slenz-project/) and visit the builds on the island of Kowhai.  Both the builds are open and are currently being packaged as reusable Creative Commons builds.
