Screen presentation question

[FRANCIS SHEPPARD]

How do you get rid of the Bars on the tob and bottom of the SL screen. I figured out the local chat bar & tool bar. But can't seem to figure out the file, edit..etc bar and the bar with music, video, & talk buttons. I see SL videos without these & with. I would like to do it without.

Some javascript/style in this post has been disabled (why?)

You need to turn on the Advanced menu if it isn't already (Cntl-Alt-D or Cntl-Alt-Shift-D depending on your machine and OS) and then Cntl-Shift-F1 will toggle the UI on and off. Alt-shift-H will do the same for HUDs.

Thanks for the info. I have the advanced menu. But when I hit Cntl Shift F1, nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?

Have you got something set up to intercept F1? It works a treat for me on a Mac and chatting to someone in-world seems to work on her PC too.
